SHAH ALAM: Proton has refreshed the Exora and the model now comes with a new variant – the Exora Super Premium (SP) which replaces the Prime variant.

“We are introducing the SP that not only provides you with a powerful turbo boost to the 1.6L engine, it also boasts an extra handsome look to the family MPV,” said Proton CEO Abdul Harith Abdullah.

“We are also introducing a new look to the existing variants of Proton Exora which are sportier with upgraded features to the exterior.”

The Premium and Super Premium variants have upgraded safety and are reinforced with more safety features such as side airbags, which means the Exora now comes equipped with four airbags, electronic stability control (ESC) and daytime running lights.

The refreshed Exora gets mod cons such as font and rear power windows, reverse camera and rear-view mirror with image across all variants.

The Premium and SP variants meanwhile come with auto cruise feature, audio switches on its steering wheel and a DVD player.

Enhancements to the MPV include steering wheel with leather wrap for better grip, new finishing to the centre console for a sharper look, ergonomic leather seats in the higher variant for extra comfortable driving, rear air-cond vents for better cabin comfort and rear smoked combi-lamps styled after sports cars.

Proton said it has managed to offer these enhancements by cutting the sticker price by as much as 5.8% or RM4,710 for selected variants.

The Exora is open for booking nationwide and test drive units are available at all showrooms now.

Test-drive units are the Premium version while the Super Premium variant can be viewed at selected Proton showrooms.

Seven colours are available: Solid White, Elegant Brown, Cocoa Grey, Genetic Silver and Tranquility Black while Luxury Blue and Indiana Grey are two new colours introduced for the new Exora models.

“We have sold a total of 128,824 units of the Exora to the public since we launched  it in 2009. The model is not only a popular choice in Malaysia but also in neighbouring Thailand and Indonesia as well,” said Harith.

Proton expects to sell 2,000 units of the Exora a month. The MPV comes with a three-year warranty or 100,000km, whichever comes first.
